Relay Marathon

Relay Marathon Registration Cap: 130 Teams
Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley

Round up your family, friends, or co-workers and get in on the excitement of the marathon!  Relay teams are comprised of 2-5 people, each of whom runs one (or more) leg of the race and hands off the timing chip to the next runner at pre-set relay exchange zones.

Team members will wear a timing chip on a Velcro® strap attached to their ankle and will hand off this timing chip to their teammate at designated Relay Zones.  The Orthopedic & Sports Institute Relay Marathon starts at 7:00 a.m. and covers the entire marathon course.  Relay legs vary in distance (see below).

All participants receive a 2013 custom printed short sleeve technical shirt and a finisher’s medal to commemorate their race participation and finish of the 2013 Community First Fox Cities Marathon Presented by Kimberly-Clark!

Athletes running the first leg may use the Gear Check Service provided at the start line.  Athletes running the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or final leg of the relay can hand their gear bags to their incoming teammate for transportation to the next relay exchange zone or the Gear Check area at the finish line.

Timing/Results
Teams will pass a timing chip from runner to runner using a Velcro® strap; the strap with the chip must be worn around the ankle.  At each exchange zone, the incoming runner hands the chip to the outgoing runner, who fastens it securely to his/her ankle before leaving the relay exchange zone.  Relay team results will be listed by overall team rank in Business/Organization, Open, Female, Family & Friends, and Costume Divisions.

Division Awards
Each member of the top team in each division (Business/Organization, Open, Female, Family & Friends, and Costumes) will receive individual award.  The Business/Organization division team winner will also receive a team award as well.
