Relay Marathon (2011 Race Results)

Relay Marathon Registration Cap: 150 Teams 
Round up your family, friends, or co-workers and get in on the excitement of the marathon! Relay teams are comprised of 2-5 people, each of whom runs one (or more) leg of the race and hands off the timing chip to the next runner at pre-set relay exchange zones.
Team members will wear a timing chip on a Velcro® strap attached to their ankle and will hand off this timing chip to their teammate at designated Relay Zones. The Orthopedic & Sports Institute Relay Marathon starts at 8:00 a.m. and covers the entire marathon course. Relay legs vary in distance (see below).
All participants receive a custom printed short sleeve technical shirt and a finisher’s medal to commemorate their race participation and finish at the 2011 Community First Fox Cities Marathon Presented by Kimberly-Clark!

6:00 a.m. Full Marathon participants expecting to finish in 6+ hrs.
7:00 a.m. Half Marathon - Open Division
7:05 a.m. Half Marathon - Competitive Walk Division
7:55 a.m. Wheelchair/Hand-crank
8:00 a.m. Full Marathon & Relay Marathon
Each relay team must enter in one of the following divisions:
- Corporate Division - any combination of male or female employees from a company or non-profit organization
- Male Division - all relay team members must be male
- Female Division - all relay team members must be female
- Mixed Division - relay teams may be comprised of any combination of males and females

Relay Marathon Shuttles
Lamers Bus Lines will provide transportation to the start line and relay exchange zones for all Relay Marathon team participants. Shuttles will make only ONE trip from each relay exchange zone to the finish line and will make the ONE trip when the last team has completed their leg. If you prefer, you may also provide your own transportation.

**Remember, only first leg runners take start line shuttle**
Gear Check
Athletes running the first leg may use the Gear Check Service provided at the start line. Athletes running the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or final leg of the relay can hand their gear bags to their incoming teammate for transportation to the next relay exchange zone or the Gear Check area at the finish line.
Timing/Results
Teams will pass a timing chip from runner to runner using a Velcro® strap; the strap with the chip must be worn around the ankle. At each exchange zone, the incoming runner hands the chip to the outgoing runner, who fastens it securely to his/her ankle before leaving the relay exchange zone. Relay team results will be listed by overall team rank in Corporate, Male, Female, or Mixed divisions.
Division Awards
Each member of the top three teams in each division (Corporate, Male, Female, & Mixed) will receive individual awards. Corporate division team winners will also receive a team award as well.
Relay Packet Pick-Up & Late Registration
Relay packet pick-up and late registration will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17 from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Fox Valley Technical College, 1825 N. Bluemound Drive, Appleton. PLEASE USE ENTRANCE #16 ON THE NORTHEAST SIDE OF THE FVTC BUILDING.
(ONE person per team must pick up the entire team’s packet)
