Good Balance Means Less Chance of Injury

ThedaCare Half Marathon

 

Note: Week 9's training run will be a 'Prediction Run'.  Test your pace and see where you are at with either a 13.1 mile route for the marathon or a 6.2 mile route for the half marathon.  For this training run, we plan to meet at Riverside Park in Neenah and run the last miles of the marathon/half marathon course.

 


YMCA Track Time Running Program 

June 9 – August 11

 

You’ve made the commitment, now let us guide you to your goal!  Whether you are training to finish yourfirst 5K, 10K, etc… or a seasoned runner looking to obtain a Personal Record, the Track Time Running Program is here to give you the guidance you need to make this your best running season yet. Instructed by the 2014 Fox CitiesMarathon Winner, Participants will be challenged all summer through track workouts designed to build speed, endurance, and strength for the key muscle groups needed for running.

 

Workouts to include Dynamic Warm-up exercises, running intervals, core strengthening and proper stretching.  Instructor will also cover topics such as, Race Day preparation, Nutrition, proper footwear selection and will provide participants with an individualized running plan.

 

Tuesdays  6:30 – 8:00 PM @  Appleton North High School.  Open to anyone 14 and older.

 

COST:   Y Member / Pace-Setters   $50    General Public    $75

School Runnings

 

Dr. Drew Ludtke has been teaching form, injury prevention, and mechanics for the past 12 years. He serves as director of the Wolverine Running Camps. Two of his campers have gone on to win Footlocker National titles.

 

It is School Runnings goal to work with you by providing guidance, support, training, and other help you may need to become your best. We can offer nutritional guidance, mental strategies, and racing advice to help you develop long-term as a person and runner.

 

Additionally, Dr. Ludtke serves as the head coach at UW – Oshkosh. His team won that NCAA Indoor national Championship in 2013 and finished Runner-up during the outdoor season. He was named NCAA Coach of the Year in 2013. During this year, his team won 10 individual national titles, seven of which came in the distance events. Additionally, one of his athletes, Christy Cazzola, set four individual national records. His team also broke the national record in the Distance Medley Relay.
